Our SolutionBrahm worked with the client to further refine the objectives, identify key messages and consider potential sensitivities surrounding the research processes. As the announcement would be made to a wide range of media, the levels and types of information required would vary accordingly. An extensive press pack was generated with a variety of background factsheets and different versions of the news release. In addition, a selection of existing photography was sourced and creative photography commissioned to enhance media coverage. This was achieved within the tight deadlines imposed by the strict approval procedures of The Gates Foundation. Brahm handled the press announcement and coordinated client interviews with print and broadcast media, including a live interview with BBC Look North, and onsite interviews with ITV Yorkshire’s Calendar News. The ResultsPrint and broadcast coverage alone reached more than 17m people and achieved a 235% return on investment. In addition, more than 20m were reached through online coverage. The story was covered in a range of national and major regional newspapers and broadcast outlets. The announcement featured across all key scientific trade publications and online news media.
