Zieglers Art & Best Print Work 2005

With over 200 entrants and 100 finalists, Brahm is delighted to be one of only three winners in this international design and print production awards.

The winning work is a series of literature produced for Reading Matters, a charity which helps young people aged 11-16, to improve their reading skills.

The challenge was to create a new identity which directly reflected the work of Reading Matters. As a charity, operating with government funding and the help of volunteers, it was important that the design reflect this through cost effective production and an appearance that was professional without being overly extravagant. Brahm’s background research led to an identity based on the way children learn to read through phonetic sounds, splitting words into syllables. This simple device was then delivered in a clean and simple typography with a fresh, clean, primary blue as the corporate colour.
