The Confusion of Multiple Truths and the Dark Place from which They Evolve
By Siobhan Carroll
7 November – 1 December 2006
Siobhan Carroll describes her work as a means to reflect on her own being; yet her practice delves into the shadowy and unknown caves of every person’s mortality, urging us to question and consider our own position within ourselves and our greater surroundings.
Her drawings pour onto the page, filling carefully selected sections, areas and corners of wide, blank spaces with elements of the mundane – a mouth, a leaf. The result is abstract and ethereal, sometimes unnerving and, at other times, comforting.
