Past ExhibitionOne Love5 October – 7 November 2007 Supported by UMBRO, the One Love project explores the intense feverishness and feeling of unity created by the sport, and felt by people the world over, regardless of their social, economic or geographic state. In housing projects, at the depths of quarries, on sandy beaches and atop mountains, men, women and children will always find the time to kick a ball. Come rain or shine. From the creation of employment to the sustaining of communities, Bliss’s images convey the weight of football as a social necessity, often present when other forms of public service are not. They contradict the popular belief that football is a matter of life and death; they say, in fact, that football is a matter of life.
